What does Cat Sitting entail?
Upon arrival, we will greet each cat, give them love, check them over, and make sure everyone is healthy and happy.
Cats are usually hungry upon arrival so we like to feed and refresh their feeding area first. It’s also a great way to build trust should you have shy kitties. When they associate us with being fed, they usually warm up pretty quickly. This is usually the time to administer any medications your cat may be taking as well.
While they eat, we head to the litter area and give it a good clean. We scoop, sweep, clean any messes and make sure there is enough litter in each pan. This is done upon every visit, multiple times per visit should the cats use the litter after I’ve already cleaned it up. We do not leave a litter box that has been used. We want your kitties to have a perfectly clean potty area before leaving each and every visit. Cats appreciate it.
We check around to make sure all areas where your pets have access are safe and nothing has been broken or could hurt them in-between visits.
Once all of the basics are done, we will spend quality time with your cat/s. Whether they want to be pet, brushed, or enjoy some playtime, we will spend the rest of the visit solely focused on your cat/s. Maybe they enjoy some porch time? Whatever your cat/s needs, we will customize our visits according to what your cat is used to.
We will check your mailbox and bring in any mail or packages left on the porch. We can take your trash to and from the curb should you be gone on trash day. Just let us know when you typically place them out and we will do that for you while you’re away. We just ask that you have a plan should bears be a nuisance in your area. We will also water any plants if needed.
We send an update via text with a few photos from our visit after each and every visit. You will always know when we’ve been there and see fun photos of your pets engaged with us during each visit.
How many visits will my cat need?
We require at least one visit per day for kitty clients. We recommend 1 to 2 visits per day. We do not offer every-other-day visits. Yes, most cats are independent but we know that it’s best to check in on them every day in case they get into something. 1-2 visits per day is the most popular option but we can schedule as many daily visits as needed for your cat/s. Every cat is different and if 3 daily visits are preferred, we can accommodate.
What time will you arrive?
Morning Visits: 8:00-11:00 a.m
Midday Visits: 12:00-3:00 p.m
Evening Visits: 4:00-7:00 p.m
*This fee can increase if it is determined by Tuckered Pup Pet Services that the time it will take to care for each pet merits the increase in price. Tuckered Pup will make an assessment and quote the appropriate price upfront at the consult.
